No matter how talented Adjest is, she's still a youth, not a reborn veteran like Desir. Thus Adjest would naturally lose sight of the bigger picture when giving her all in an individual fight.

Interesting thought: we have never yet seen Desir commit to beating someone in a fight. It's all some variation of misdirection.

I really want to see what he pulls out of his hat in a knock-down-drag out situation.

Ninjadork and Kaarme are on point.

It was refreshing to see the "impossible" solving of the quest achieved by Desir. I suppose he lied to his teammates to keep them focused. Desir's goals are refreshingly uncommon in Isekai. He doesn't desire to dominate--he wins definitively but closely--but to spur his talented friends to grow. They grow, but he still wins in the contests. This series is fun to read.

Well, it seems that Romantica would have won even without using magic. The two nobles were launched into their rush and couldn't stop themselves, and getting your eyes stabbed probably doesn't feel too good~
And damn, @chucke1992 your analogy is perfectly on point, made me laugh xD
