So MD isn't the only manga site I use, there's also a Chinese one, and it allows people to browse completed manga only. I think this would be a pretty good addition since some people like binging a lot more than following manga.

I'd like that too, but the problem is a lot of manga have "completed" status because they are complete in their respective countries even if only a few chapters have been translated. A more accurate one would be nice maybe ala Mangaupdates where it shows the status of both the raws and translated version.

There's already several threads on this same page discussing this same thing

tl;dr, not happening unless you can somehow figure out a satisfying way to determine what makes a manga completed, taking into account alternative groups both in the same and different languages as well as edge cases like manga with no chapter numbers or otherwise nonstandard numbering schemes, ongoing retranslations and so on, preferably without becoming excessively complicated and resource-intensive implementation-wise

We're not some random aggregator that only serves one version of each chapter and that's it

So basically, there are two orthogonal concepts of "completed":

1) Publication status: This is the status of the original source material.

There are basically two possible states for this one:
- In-Progress | Publishing | Ongoing | Releasing = the original source is still releasing new material
- Completed | Complete | Finished = the original source has stopped releasing new material

Some people also make the following distinctions:
- On Hiatus = the source stopped releasing new material, but the story isn't complete, so it should (hopefully) at one point in the future continue releasing new material
- Dead = the source stopped releasing new material even though the story isn't finished, probably because the author died or the magazine was cancelled or something like that

This is fairly straightforward and objective, and tracked in a variety of places. For example:

- Mangadex: Pub. status (Ongoing / Completed)
- MAL: Status (Publishing / Finished)
- MU: Status in Country of Origin (Ongoing / Complete)
- AL: Status (Releasing / Finished)

2) Scanlation status: This relates to the number of chapters translated by various scanlation groups.

This is more tricky because there can be multiple groups and multiple languages. MU does have a "Completely Scanlated?" field, but I think it's set to "Yes" when every chapter has been translated by some group, so it's not representative of all languages.

There are several possibilities here:
- no scanlated chapters at all
- some chapters scanlated in 1 langauge
- some chapters scanlated in several languages
- all chapters scanlated in 1 language
- all chapters scanlated in 1 language and some chapters scanlated in other languages
- all chapters scanlated in several languages and some chapters scanlated in other languages
- all chapters scanlated in every language in known existence (including Esperanto, Klingon and High Valyrian, and also Pirate English and 4kids English)
- etc.

And some possible complications:
- There may be missing in-between chapters. For example, a group may chose to skip the in-between chapters if it was covered in the anime, if there isn't much interest in the in-between chapters (this happens a lot in anthologies), or if the group that did those chapters doesn't allow uploading on Mangadex. (e.g. One Outs, Chihayafuru, Zetsubou-sensei, Ping pong girls, Usogui)
- There may be a lot of .5, .6, .1, .2, etc. chapters, so it can be unclear if there are missing chapters or not. (e.g. One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100, QED, Mochi Au Lait yuri incest manga)
- Sometimes the volume numbers and chapter numbers don't match up at all, because reasons. For example, this manga is 6 volumes in the official Japanese release, 16 volumes in the official Spanish release, and 4 volumes in the official German release. So obviously, that means the English scanlation goes up to Vol. 16, and the Polish scanlation goes up to Vol. 4 Ch. 16. That's not confusing at all, ahaha...
- Maybe all of the chapters have been scanlated, but they're really poor quality to the point of being unreadable, so another group wants to go through and retranslate it.

But, I don't think a search for scanlation complete feature needs to be perfect; it just needs to be good enough. Even if it's only accurate for like ~80% series, it'd still be a big help for users who are trying to find a good series to binge. To start with, maybe something like this:

A manga series is automatically marked as Scanlation-Complete in a specified Language if:
1. There is at least one chapter marked as END in the specified Language.
2. There are no missing chapters in the specified Language.

This value can be stored (it'd only need to be updated whenever a new chapter is uploaded to that series), so I don't think this would be particularly resource-intensive.

For the edge cases, maybe give uploaders/contributors the ability to override the scanlation status value on the Manga information page. On Fanfiction.net, users have to manually set their In-Progress/Complete status anyway, so I don't think it's too demanding to ask uploaders/contributors to change a single flag.

I would also like searching for completed manga, mainly for hidden gems. But damn, man ununseti you did your homework. Loads of respect.
