Tbf, he did take advantage of the mousy college kid, with how pushy & strong he is. It didn't matter what his background is but he involved the poor kid by staying with & using him. But what's more messed up was the police, for not detecting a (potential) victim when they go to report something important as that, no matter how trivial it is in the 'eyes' of the law.
