right now, if you have read a chapter, mangadex marks that chapter as read, but there is no option to mark chapters as read manually,
like if one person has read a manga till chapter 40 on some other site, to add "read" icon on all chapters till chapter 40, one will need to visit all those chapters.
pls add an option "set this chapter as last read"

Also, I wanted to ask, Do you guys plan to turn this website in a PWA?

PWA = progressive web app?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Web_Apps
coz that way, this website, could work as an app in mobile devices, with features like notifications for updates etc.

The staff has said before that they don't track read chapters for manga you're not following because their database tables were getting too big when they did that.

Similarly, I think they're reluctant to add a "mark as read" button because they want to disincentive people from doing exactly what you said: Marking a bunch of previous chapters as read. Personally, if I've read a manga until chapter 40 on some other site, I'll usually just mark the last few chapters as read (say, ch. 36-40).

Anyway, if you're interested, I made a Firefox extension that, among a few other things, also allows you to add a "mark as read" button for chapters (You still have to be following the manga for it to work, of course).
I made a post about it here: https://mangadex.org/thread/15505

As for PWA: I don't recall the staff mentioning anything specific in that regard, but they have commented before about how most of their users are from mobile, so they might look into something like that in the future.
