Sazae-san Extends Guinness World Record for Longest Animated Show Along with Earning Another for Lead Actress

On Sunday, the Guinness World Record committee awarded Eiken’s anime adaptation of the late Machiko Hasagawa’s manga titled _Sazae-San_ for the “longest running animated series” as well as the voice actress who voices the protagonist of the story, Midori Kato, for the “longest career as a voice actor of the same character in an animated television series.” You can read more about this here: link

To put this in perspective, the anime has been airing since 1969 and according to Wikipedia, the show currently has around 2,500+ episodes plus 7,500+ segments. It’s interesting in a way considering the manga the show is base on has long ended.
