So I have nothing but time on my hand and have been reading a lot, and I think I have started to hit a dead end as anytime I look for something new it only has 3 or so chapters, I am looking for anything with a good story but everyone likes what they like, the main thing I am looking for is something with a fantasy setting IE adventures guild, going on quests etc, other then that here is a small list.
Long Reads, the more content the better.
Fantasy
Isekei
Magic
Monsters/monster girls
I am a sucker for a good romance as well
ATM these are my current kick, I do not mind recommendations out side of these as well, could introduce me to a whole new world, I also do not mind the material being adult as long as it has a story, I am a bit new to the world of manga and still learning things from reading so many stories, any help or information here would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading.

I mean try to read "Yugami Has No Friends" and "The World of Machida-kun" plus "We shall begin ethics" IF AND ONLY IF you like philosophy.

Your interest list screams The Vision of Escaflowne https://mangadex.org/title/9202/tenkuu-no-escaflowne to me but I never finished the anime and don't know if the manga holds up, but aside from guild/quest stuff it should tick them all off.

Another one that fits the bill is The Faraway Paladin https://mangadex.org/title/24651/saihate-no-paladin but it's not that far along. What's there is strong enough though.

Also don't shy away from series that look too popular. I would honestly recommend to go read Dragonball/Naruto/Bleach/etc. and just drop them if they start to bore you.

not sure if you would like these. I have a tendency to like the non epic stuff. Are you looking for lots of action? Darker vs lighter vs Oh how cute? Slower movement or faster paced? I do second the saihate-no-paladin mentioned above. The ones below aren't really guild quest type, I've got some but can't remember the names right off the bat. You mention Isekai, how do you feel about "Isekai Trash"? I actually enjoy it some.

I find this one enjoyable as a break from the other stuff I read light hearted romance in a fantasy world. https://mangadex.org/title/24249/a-story-about-treating-a-female-knight-who-has-never-been-treated-as-a-woman-as-a-woman

I'm enjoying this one, but it is not too far along, https://mangadex.org/title/23631/seijo-no-maryoku-wa-bannou-desu Isekai where two woman are summoned to another world, the story is about the woman they claim was a mistake.

A little hesitant to recommend this one, but for an Isekai I like the fact that he is taking it slow exploring his skills. It drags a little do the repetitive test and research. Currently he is only seeing one character who is a wolf character, no harem at least at this point. I like that he actually took some bounties on humans along with the typical labyrinth crawl.
https://mangadex.org/title/21699/isekai-meikyuu-de-harem-wo
A few possibilities without links, Overlord, Exterminator, The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic - isekais.

I'll add this although it is completely outside your description, which is actually similar to mine at a high level. It is a quick read, I found the title and description interesting and for an 8/8.5 chapter read thought it was well worth the time.

I am not sure if this will reach everyone here but here goes.
@aquariumtourmaline Dungeon Meshi is not bad but fills like filler the manga to me, so many parts feel like it's just there to add "meat" to make the story longer, but the underline story feels lacking, still not terrible, thank you for the suggestion I read through it and for some reason got the urge to look for fishing mangas.

@sterven Bezerker has some good points but the story is really starting to piss me off and I feel like I am being dragged around like someone is playing keep away with me, just when I want something to happen to further the story either overall or character wise something happens that prevents it, it's frustrating I got to CH 303, gonna leave it there for a bit and read other things for a bit, thank you for pointing me towards it though, perhaps it will get better, I was reading some where else though that due to other projects Berzerker is being put on hold for a while.

@axelTHEGREAT I am not sure if I am doing something wrong here but any time I look for "Yugami Has No Friends" and "The World of Machida-kun" nothing comes up, could you provide a direct link to them for me here? Would appreciate it, We Shall Now Begin Ethics looks good but it's not what I am looking for at this time, so I put it under the "Plan to read" section for later.

@Poklamez Escaflowne never held much interest in me since the mechs, I got drowned in mechs when I was younger so I kind of just lost interest, there was one mech anime I reallly enjoyed called Van Dread, if you're interested you may enjoy it. The Faraway Paladin is 15/10 it's damned good and I hope to see more, I was reading this one for a bit, I hope it has a long long life and doesn't see any sign of an axe.

@schlo Anything with a good story, depending on my mood I will pull something up to read that goes with it, I do not know what "Isekai Trash" is, if this is a term used to explain cooker cutter stories that use the same setting and same trope over and over, then I enjoy them, I do not consider anything with a decent story as trash even if it is like other stories, the only time I will drop something is if it's difficult to read or skips to much forcing the reader to assume too much and putting plot holes in to the story, I know that the translations are not 100% but some are just @.@ even google translate is not not that at least from my experiences. Overlord I have heard good things about may look into that, I am reading Exterminator not much there but enjoying it, not sure about the wrong way to use healing magic, there are no chapters in my language so I ignored it.

Abs Knight or How to Treat a Lady Knight Right is a fantastic story I have been reading for a while, I first saw it on IMGUR a random chapter and started to read that on MangaRock (RIP)

The Power of the Saint is All Around is a light and enjoyable story I found this via a search here a little while ago, looking forward to more of it.

A Harem in the Fantasy World Dungeon, good story, enjoyable characters excellent art, and even though there is sex they don't focus on it and treat it like what it is, looking forward to see how this one continues and the characters grow/change, as well as the world, 10/10 for me on this one.

The Shocking Reality of A Loan Shark Collecting Money, short but adorable, ty for showing this one to me ^ ^, the cover and the description was NOTHING like what was inside so it was an enjoyable surprise

To everyone who replied to my initial post I thank you for taking the time out to give me suggestions and show me these things, also I am sorry it took so long to reply I wanted to read the suggestions thoroughly to give an honest opinion on top IRL being in the way I made some time to write out this tonight, if any of you or your friends have more suggestions I would be happy to look at them, in the meantime I will keep looking for more to read and put on my lists. I tend to pop on at least once a day to check on my follows so if you want to send a message or ask me something I will try to reply faster.

Vandread was really good by the way. Didn't know anyone else liked it 😊 . I can suggest a different site for The wrong way to use healing magic. It's quite good.

yeah, Exterminator is not one of those where you go oh that is great, but I find it amusing and enjoyable. The first ten or so chapters being really good, the rats and all. By Isekai Trash, another forum uses that term for cookie cutter over powered character type. I used the term since I thought it was a little more widespread. Actually I kind of hate the term. I'm more the type if you enjoy it great and if you tell me a decent story for the most part I'm a happy camper.

If you don't mind me asking what language do you read?

Not an abundance of romance but for fantasy / isekai I also really like https://mangadex.org/title/21809/genjitsushugisha-no-oukokukaizouki Summoned person helps rebuild a country and how would you do it.

You might also like Release That Witch, another isekai. I like it but my concern is that it might end up being too drawn out, it is at 67 chapters right now.

Not on this site, but there is a title that I really like and am looking forward, The Great Cleric, only 5 chapters. Isekai / fantasy. I really like the way it is moving. It looks like the character has potential to be powerful, but the process he is taking is slower and seems more believable. Talent alone isn't enough he searches for training. The site that has this also has the wrong way to use healing magic. In English.

If you're looking for one that is just kind of feel good, not binge type, I like https://mangadex.org/title/32153/taimashi-to-akuma-chan every so often they release a chapter and it is a nice feel good read. Slow paced.

Not fantasy, it's a school but does focus on monster girls. I have not read it but watched the anime. It was enjoyable. Not sure I would want to watch several seasons. It deals with the issues of monster girls fitting in with humans. https://mangadex.org/title/17258/demi-chan-wa-kataritai

Ok I've got to ask (loan shark), which did you prefer, ending 8 or 8.5 the alternate ending? I liked 8, a little sadder but to me more realistic and it fit the story.

Surprised no one recommended this yet.

I Sold Off My Lifespan, For 10,000 Yen A Year
22440.jpg

A twenty-year-old with little hope for the future discovers a shop that buys lifespan, time, and health. This is a story dealing with the ensuing consequences.
Great romance, won't take too much time binging the entire thing. Great read.

Also, I know that this isn't in your list of prefered genres but please give this a chance, I promise it's amazing.
Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors
36067.jpg

If a telepath, a clairvoyant, a vice detective, a ninja with super reflexes, a spirit medium, an oil magnate, an extremely lucky boy, and an extremely strong man were to fight it out in a rock-paper-scissors tournament, who would you bet your money on? Just because it's a simple game with simple rules doesn't mean the matches will be simple. Mind games, cheat abilities, interesting characters, great humor, this manga has it all!

Also obligatory plugin for some of my fav mangas,

Lmao I totally understand where you're coming from. I feel the same except 100 times worse due to the fact that i've been reading for the series for over 15 years.
The fillers were such a pain to get through especially the boat arc we were there for over a fucking decade. On the bright side plot has picked up as of late (Casca regained her memories) hopefully it doesn't take another decade to leave fairy island. Also seeing as berserk has such irregular updates (1 chapter a year if were lucky) i'd recommend you power through since once you catch up you're going to be waiting for a while.

Since i'm here i'll toss you another. Try out Gantz it starts out with a "understandable" plot then goes ape shit on the story but it's a fun ride so i'd definitely give it a go.

I am going to reccomend a webtoon called Kubera, it has 400+ chapters and pretty much hits all the criteria except for isekai. The art and story start off a little poor but get better as the series continues. If you are to read it, read the 1st season here and switch to the webtoons site.

Other than that gotta say 12 kingdoms, Lessa, Kouchou no yumeji, Ragna crimson, Ernak, and of course Solo leveling because the art and paneling is so amazing.

@Dreaguh This is Yugami has no friends, I also recommend it
https://mangadex.org/title/12088/yugami-kun-ni-wa-tomodachi-ga-inai

Those are some of my recommendation
https://mangadex.org/title/26079/heterogeneous-linguistics (really original, investigate the problem of communication in fantasy settings)
https://mangadex.org/title/14676/the-legendary-moonlight-sculptor (nice, actually on hiatus)

https://mangadex.org/title/27202/the-ride-on-king (isekai putin)
https://mangadex.org/title/27114/henkyou-no-roukishi-bard-loen

Also, the search function is really useful: you drop a couple of categories, sort by votes or by subscriptions and open the first 10 or 20

Ok I think this is exactly what your looking for and hits all your preferences https://mangadex.org/title/12171/re-monster , it has slowed down on updates but there is a good chunk of reading there as well. 4 cut hero is also right up there for what your looking for but sadly isn't in eng on this site and I had to drop it cause I'm to cheap to pay for it.

I’d recommend a classic
Please save my earth
https://mangadex.org/title/3617/please-save-my-earth
Definitely looks old but if you can stomach the art, it does improve vastly. Don’t be fooled that you only see 13 chapters, each one is a volume. About a group waking up to memories of a past life as aliens. There’s also a 6 episode ova series that roughly covers the first half that was great too.
Another past life memory
https://mangadex.org/title/151/bokura-no-kiseki
Started out as a one shot and then got serialized taking place I think a year later. Memories of a fantasy world, basically reverse isekai.

https://mangadex.org/title/9114/qualia-the-purple
So good, kind of crazy and hard to explain but really recommend it. Alternate realities/dimensions.

If you like these I’ll recommend more.

I want to once again say thank you for everyone who has responded to the random nerd looking for things to read, since you took time our of your days/life to share what you love and enjoy with me I wanted to give everything a fair chance and go over them one by one.Spending time with the stories to give an honest opinion, I am by no means a pro or think that I am some god king and my opinion is law, I do feel like it's not to much to share my opinions perhaps find common ground or learn something, since there was so many recommendations it took a while to go over them all! I wanted to make sure to reply to everyone since everyone took time out to share with me, that being said this is a long one, I am not even sure it will all fit under 1 post, thanks again, hope to see more recommendations, and I will make an effort to reply to everyone ^ ^, also feel free to send me a message or reply here if you want to get in touch.

@Stoirm74 VanDread was excellent despite the crass humor, thank you for the links, the story is good so far, too bad that it's not here so no idea when it would update. I wonder if I should start an account on the other site as well, but that is really a pain.

@schlo I read english or bad english (American)

https://mangadex.org/title/21809/genjitsushugisha-no-oukokukaizouki (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) so far so good, curious to see how this one goes, a bit early to give full thoughts on this one.

https://mangadex.org/title/34605/release-that-witch (Release That Witch), I find it hard to read, it seems like there are holes and major things just missing, perhaps the way it's translated? I can't say much on this one I am not really giving it a fair shot atm, any time I tried to read it the formation of the sentences felt wrong and made it hard to read, I may give this a 2end try later on put it on the plan to read list for now.

The Great Cleric, I haven't seen this one yet started to read it and was upset when it was over so soon, I think this will be a good one, I have a think for healing magic Isekais, not sure why, guess it's due to my nature being a healer in MMOs myself.

https://mangadex.org/title/32153/taimashi-to-akuma-chan (Exorcist and Demon-chan) Looks interesting but not something I ma looking for right now, will def put this on the plan to read list and catch it later.

https://mangadex.org/title/17258/demi-chan-wa-kataritai (Interviews with Monster Girls) I saw the anime and enjoyed it quite a bit, I enjoy monster culture in general but the manga has had no updates in 2 years? that makes me worry.

To answer your question about Loan Shark, I see both endings as a possibility, how ever the mother was never once home with a small child even if she had to make money due to debts she could come home tuck her in feed her give her love, but every time he was there she was not, she was an unknown until the end it did not feel like there was any love from her just stress and panic from the debt, she did not even notice her door was caved in nor said anything about it which makes me think she was not home for the entire time and left the girl alone. TBH I think it should have gone with the 2end ending and then that would give enough reason to create more material for a full story between the 2 as they grow with each other, these are just some of my thoughts though.

@DANDAN_THE_DANDAN
I Sold Off My Lifespan, For 10,000 Yen A Year just is not singing to me, but I am a sucker for romance gonna put this on the plan to read list, when I get in that mood I will give it a read.

Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors I can't even get past the first page x.x I tried more then once...the way it's written the things they say I just lose all interest.

https://mangadex.org/title/20679/5toubun-no-hanayome Looks good, had this on the plan to read list when I get in the mood for romance, it sounds really cute.

https://mangadex.org/title/19193/maou-jou-de-oyasumi The descrip for this one leaves me very confused, but manga tends to make the most trivial thing entertaining so I'll toss this on the Plan to read, has a lot of chapters which is one the major things I look for.

https://mangadex.org/title/20723/witch-hat-atelier 20/10 this story is INCREDIBLE, the way every thing is explained how they are making a world and not just a story, the art is absolutely amazing and the characters are great, why is this not an anime? I have been following this one for a while and am always eager to read the next installment. In my honest opinion, if this found it's way in to the right hands this would rivaL if not overtake Harry Potter, and that is saying something as a nerd.

https://mangadex.org/title/31792/mieruko-chan The chapters are short but interesting, but it gets repetitive with no signs of an actual story progressing when there is a character that may have an answer we get nothing, but interested in the mikos, perhaps they have the answers. Having a hard time understanding why she doesn't return to the shrine for answers.

https://mangadex.org/title/30945/pseudo-harem uhh what? the descrip sounds off, reading a few chapters looks like something I will put for later when I am wanting a romantic story.

https://mangadex.org/title/22284/sachiiro-no-one-room this one does not seem to be getting updates, so I may have to put this on the back burner.

https://mangadex.org/title/26458/isekai-transporter Fun idea here but hard to read, I filled in most of the gaps myself be nice to see if this gets more support so it could grow into something more refined.

https://mangadex.org/title/27870/yajin It is October Eve so this may be fun to read if it sticks to the "horror" side. Looks like this one will have a great story, and a derptastic dog, I think I will enjoy this one, I intended to only read 1 or 2 chapters but I noticed I was on the 13th x.x

@Sterven I was thinking of watching that anime (Gantz), are you able to compare the two and recommend one of the other or?

@Tepidness I found the Kubera WebToon you were talking about looks interesting, gonna give it a shot.

The Twelve Kingdoms I can't seem to find a place that has it to read, looking on the wiki it sounds interesting, may check out the anime.
Lessa Webtoon looks like it could be good but looks short so put on the back burner for now.

Kouchou no yumeji looks cute, I am starting to think I won't be able to use a single website for all my manga needs though :/

Ragna Crimson, looks amazing, I want to read that one ASAP, but I am taking the time to reply to everyone tonight so it's going to have to wait until after :p

Erunak the story seems like something I would enjoy so I may try, I normally try to stay away from Korean comics due to their names and the phrases/terms they use...I have no idea what they mean and the names get me really confused since they are so damn close to each other, perhaps since it's not something I am used to, anytime I try I just mistake so many characters for others since they have 1 o instead of 2 or 3 os in their name. At least that has been my experience, not saying every one is like that. I will put it on the Plan to read list for now and may try later.

Solo Leveling same as above ^

@Zdarkbrz_816 https://mangadex.org/title/31032/otomege-sekai-wa-mob-ni-kibishii-sekai-desu( The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) Is better then I had expected, I was a tad frustrated when it ended when it did, looking forward to more of this.

https://mangadex.org/title/17709/kumo-desu-ga-nani-ka( I am a spider, so what?) This one is 10/10 for me, been following it for a while, started since it sounded so out there but damn is it good.

https://mangadex.org/title/25495/maou-no-ore-ga-dorei-elf-wo-yome-ni-shitanda-ga-dou-medereba-ii this is fantastic, I am really enjoying it, the characters are enjoyable, the world seems small at this time which is not a bad thing, to many fantasy mangas really lay on the political element with the kingdoms and the nobility ranks and etc etc gets heavy to read after some time.

https://mangadex.org/title/33085 (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute, The Eminence in Shadow) I am enjoying this, though I do hope that he starts to believe everything he made up and it's not 200 chapters of the same thing.

https://mangadex.org/title/21562 (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, The Pharmacists Monologue) This is really good, even if it doesn't hit the points I mentioned before I am really glad you shared this I finished reading all of it before I knew it was so late/early x.x 10/10 from me.

Kimetsu no Yaiba been hearing things about this, and the anime, I tried to talk to someone about it but they got really fan boy on me and it was not a pleasant conversation so I wanted to let the "hype" die down.

We seem to share a lot of similar tastes, would love to see what else you have.

@Beregorn https://mangadex.org/title/12088/yugami-kun-ni-wa-tomodachi-ga-inai does not sing to me atm but I will put it on my plan to read list, these days I have not been much for comedy.

https://mangadex.org/title/26079/heterogeneous-linguistics Follwoing this one for a bit now, really like what they are doing and the art is adorable, it's also nice to see someone tackle the world from this point of view.

https://mangadex.org/title/14676/the-legendary-moonlight-sculptor sounds good, how ever with it being on Hiatus I would hate to get into it to never see what happens....that has happened to me before, I try to avoid that, also as mentioned above I generally stay away from Korean comics due to the terms they use and the names being similar I get things mixed up also I am guessing due to the language barrier the way the sentences are formed are odd to me at times, still I can usually fill in gaps or formalize things in my head.

https://mangadex.org/title/3409/otoyomegatari sounds out there, gonna put this on the plan to read list if the mood hits me for romance.

https://mangadex.org/title/17189/arte looks interesting, same as above save it for later when I am in the mood.

https://mangadex.org/title/31078/handyman-saitou-in-another-world Have this one on follow been reading it, the time between chapters is LOOOOONG but the story is interesting but I wonder if the author has personal experience with alzheimer's with how the wizard acts.

https://mangadex.org/title/1168/spice-and-wolf On the plan to read, In highschool I remember people going nutso for this, odd it does not have more chapters, I wonder if I am getting the name mixed up.

https://mangadex.org/title/21685/lies-of-the-sheriff-evans-dead-or-love I have a bit of an avversion to westerns due to how things were...but it sounds like a relaxing read, plan to read for now.

https://mangadex.org/title/22303/isekai-kenkokuki Been following this one for a while, I quite enjoy it, it's been a fun read I thought we were nearing the end but that last chapter has me wondering.

https://mangadex.org/title/21562/kusuriya-no-hitorigoto was also recommended above
"(Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, The Pharmacists Monologue) This is really good, even if it doesn't hit the points I mentioned before I am really glad you shared this I finished reading all of it before I knew it was so late/early x.x 10/10 from me."

https://mangadex.org/title/27202/the-ride-on-king uhh what? I am not sure how to feel about this...on one hand this is such a waste and feels like propaganda but it could also just be the persons humor, I uhhh don't have much to say on this one.

https://mangadex.org/title/27114/henkyou-no-roukishi-bard-loen excellent story with a fun main character, looking forward to more of this one
I have used the search function, however there are hidden gems or with all the mangas sometimes things will just escape your view so I thought it would be a good idea to make a post asking for recommendations from people who know more about this world then I do. I have been very grateful that people have been taking the time out to share what they like with a random nerd on the internet ^ ^.

@devilkirby https://mangadex.org/title/12171/re-monster I have had this on my plan to read for a little bit now, I was gonna get to it once I exhausted the other Isekais, I know nothing about the story outside of the description but some inner voice is telling me not to read it or at least not yet, sounds odd I know, perhaps since it's so out of the normal compared to the others it makes me feel uneasy?

@Twi https://mangadex.org/title/3617/please-save-my-earth looks heavy on the romance gonna put this to the side for later.

https://mangadex.org/title/151/bokura-no-kiseki looks like an odd story but looks like it could be an interesting read, it's nice to see how some stories tackle things from different perspectives.

https://mangadex.org/title/9114/qualia-the-purple Anthor crazy and out there story, looks like it would be a fun read, I love the strange and bizzare.

You have some fun tastes I am looking forward to read these when the mood strikes, thank you for showing me these crazy stories.

@Deoxribo9 https://mangadex.org/title/2957/pygmalio looks crazy good, def gonna look at this one, the fact it's old can even be better, the art style is fantastic from what I saw, growing up with 80-90s cartoon the style suits me ^ ^.

Holy crap I did not think all of this would fit in one post, I am hoping all the replies reach everyone and the text did not get scrambled, as I was finalizing this early early morning/late night for me so I am not at 100%

Perhaps because I'm not used to interacting with the community, your reply made me really happy ^^'
Thank you for taking your time to read and reply!

I agree with what you said in "The Eminence in the Shadow", I do hope he notices in no more than 2 or 3 chapters, it's about time to get some progression going.

About Kimetsu no Yaiba: It is, yes, filled with hype... which seems to happen whenever a shounen reasonably good gets an adapted? This case specially it has incredible animation and soundtrack which only aggravates it, I guess...
Well, what I mean is, if you're the type that enjoys shounen you'll probably have a good time with this one.

Since you wanted to know what else I have, here's one (though it's not receiving many updates...)

Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha

Seeing that you like fantasy and weird/bizarre things I'll drop those two titles here, and recommend the scans group "Lovely, Strange, Dark" whenever you want some short story ^^'

Houseki no Kuni

Girls' Last Tour

Wondering what you think of those Otome Game Manga, I'll leave two more here...

I'm a Villainous Daughter, so I'm going to keep the Last Boss

Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami
