The likely reason is simply that he's John's companion, which in turn gives her high hopes of his potential...although given that he also got one of those in the first timeline and she seems to remember the future that was, it's possible as she was originally summoned she noticed that he did gain something before he died that the MC, as a still mostly normal human at the time, didn't/couldn't notice
