Meanwhile one time I said “new information is in the next chapter” and got a PM about properly tagging things as spoilers (‘things happen’ is spoilers?!) with a warning of consequences.

I’m not sure priorities are in the right place.

I had some guy talking about how AIDS was punishment from god because homosexuals are disgusting etc. recently and not a peep.

Overtly offensive comments are modded. Some slip through, so report them if you see them.

Spoilers (information about future chapters) are meant to be in spoiler tags. It's that simple. There aren't any consequences for having a comment modded for spoilers (other than the guilt you should feel for potentially spoiling people), and there's no hidden counter of modded comments that mods use to target people.

If you're going to bash the site by mistakenly overemphasizing a relatively minor issue, you should at least drop the snide tone.

Those types of comments and actions do get modded when they are reported. I'm sure the mods go and review them, when I find comments with that type of message, 9 times out of 10 it has already been modded and/or a mod came in to stop the discussion with a warning.

Posting spoilers and getting modded usually does not have any consequences, actually, I don't think there are any.

I'll be honest, I haven't encountered a lot of overtly offensive remarks that could be described as hate speech, but when there is, it's usually modded pretty fast. As I said in a recent similar thread, hate speech is too broad a term. The Meriam-Webster definition is "speech expressing hatred of a particular group of people". That could mean a racist comment, or it could mean someone saying Bronies are creepy. Both fall under that definition of hate speech, so you need to be a lot more specific.

Also, a mod said in that similar thread that the report tags are irrelevant. Just describe in detail what is offensive or whatnot.

Try therapy. You put too much thought on online comments. Made by strangers.
For what it’s worth, I reported comments that call me names. All of them got moderated.
On the other hand, when I use the r-word, my comment got moderated. I think. It was a long time ago.

There is no perfect utopian online community. If you want to try, just make one.
These days everyone is making their own discord server.
Some with super strict rules like using the correct pronouns.
Perhaps you like that kind of thing.

Well, 1. This place doesn’t allow that. I’m pretty sure you’ve seen that comments got moderated.
2. But even if your definition of “hate speech” is much more aggressive, 99% of the comments are just normal ones discussing mangas.

There are accounts that seemingly exist just to troll specific content whenever it appears. Get reported every time.
They are still here.

Words on a static page is great. I mean that. It’s great. Good policy. But a paper tiger only works on it’s own until someone tests it.
It’s been tested. It’s ignored because they don’t have any reason to care.
UbiSoft has always had sexual harassment policies. It’s also always had sexual harassment. Because they like the latter more than the former.

The comments section of every chapter of FukaBoku are toxic cesspools of hate. Each on. Over and over. Same people on other manga. Same stuff
