Heyho,
p6 bottom left (marked as p21 on the page): Genevan mercs. Geneva = City in Switzerland, Genoa is the Italian one further south...
The right or correct Italian one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genoa
The Swiss one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva
Condottieri https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condottieri
Yeah, I am pretty sure it is supposed to be Genoa.

ATTACHED on top, not attacked

No horn helmet getting bullied into adding horns is too real.

@cryum historically, "viking" helmets did not have horns, so it's even worse in that regard. They also weren't called Vikings but let's not go there.

Thanks for translating this! Yamada has been one of my favorite artists for a long time, I'm happy to see their manga get scanlated.

@DerpySausage Yes. I know. The chapter was entirely about that. The joke was making fun specifically about how people don't care about historical accuracy while also juggling the funny hats that people DID wear in history.

>that last bit in Teuton-san description
Almost makes the 800 years of constant suffering worth it.

There is no evidence of horned Viking helmets. They were portrayed as having horns by Christian artists in paintings to make them look unholy and demonic as enemies of the Faith. Medieval propaganda, in a way.

I see that this has already been covered better, but I had the comment all typed out while reading so I still want to put it in here while thanking for your work:

Page 6 (numbered 21), footnote - it's Genoese crossbowmen from Genua in Italy. (Geneva is in Switzerland, home to another brand of mercenaries).

Condottieri is a bit iffily used as well, but close enough for a manga.

..

Actually, since they (the Genevans) will probably turn up sooner or later:

And the funny guys:

>be a Doppelsöldner
>have to be the first one to charge into the enemy lines to cleave through them
>get twice the pay to charge with a 2 handed sword into an enemy line of pikes
Nah, I'd rather not.
Sold = pay
doppel(t) = double, twice, duplicate, doubly and so on
Söldner = mercenary
Doppelsöldner = ???
;)

Teutonic knight best girl. No, it doesn't have anything to do with me playing M2TW as Teutonic Order and ogling their upgraded armor.

As an Italian, I can confirm that. Genoese crossbowmen were famous all across Europe and were employed until the introduction of black powder. Swiss mercenaries were mostly famous for fighting in formation armed with pikes.

How about a noble or a merchant or at least a free(d)man from the city? I don't wanna be cannon fodder and being a serf sucks too. Feels bad man, being alive in the middle ages is cancer. At lest Landsknechte [proper plural] had nice pants and posh clothes. ;_;
