I think Mismis became one of the witches is so uncalled for
Dunno, I just don't like the type of girl, an airhead with just big boobies for fanservice ?? does she hold a big plot in the future? It's better for her to surrender herself to the empire. Maybe they will do experiment to her or use her body for further studies about witches, but I think it's better than dragging her comrades into danger. Iska alone already being watched as Apostle and potential traitor.

Btw, does Mismis has a crush on Iska too? This melon woman keeps appearing in events altogether wish Iska. Ugh jeez please don't disturb my OTP.

Them ahoge work like antenna synchronizing them, no doubt

Mismis will either:

-Executed, splitting the team apart, causing Iska to swore for revenge against the Empire,
-Serving jail time, which Iska and the gang will make another prison break, freeing her but making them enemy of the empire, or
-She'll take refuge under Alice, which has been hinted before the fight against The Founder, making her a powerful witch.

Petition to have oppai loli switch sides to sidestep the upcoming suffering

I give it... five chapters max before someone knows about the Captain's plight and has to be bribed/eliminated/convinced not to spill the beans. Realistically, more like two.

@JavelinJoe That's way too black and white a way of seeing things. Throughout humanity's history we've learned to coexist with other humans that, to the people of the time, appeared completely alien and inhuman (see how long it took for "scientific studies" showing that this or that race was genetically superior or inferior to be once and for all disproven). Witches having otherworldly abilities creates a new problem, to be sure, but hardly one that's insurmountable. Heck, they already have Star Spirit suppression technology (since they can apparently keep witches prisoner), all it would take for a peaceful society involving both types (not races, since witches are apparently not born, or at least not just born that way) is for all witches to be willingly fitted with such suppressors in daily life. It certainly wouldn't be a quick or easy process, but to say there's no alternative but to either eliminate on of the sides or permanently separate them is unlikely. Heck, even in-universe there exist neutral buffer zones, and we can assume that not every single citizen in the Nebulis Kingdom is a witch themselves, meaning they manage to co-exist just fine. Honestly I give it better than 70-30 odds the Empire or someone in it is actually behind this whole war starting and being perpetuated with some secret pogrom or experimental program being the cause for the original Nebulis to go on a rampage, with the remaining 30 being some other secret organization playing both sides against the middle instead.

@Deathhappens where you have that witches are not born? Here is only information that normal people can become become witches and they have less chance than hit the jackpot and they have army of witches like in thousands? If they are not born why royal family is most powerfull if that is just random? And who are so called "Pureblood"? And why there are children witches?
Avatar
@blackseagull I said " not just born", not "not born". There's definitely some heredity in place, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to maintain a kingdom. But if it can also happen at random, it's more akin to a mutation than a separate race. Basically, X-Men.

@Deathhappens

Once you're a mage, it runs in the bloodline. The only way a normal person can become one is by exposure to star energy like the vortex. It's more like Inhumans than mutants like the X-Men.

As for your earlier comment, when the Empire discovered star energy a hundred years ago, and a bunch of people turned into mages, they got put into internment camps and got some horrible treatment.

@JavelinJoe

there's a major problem with your argument. Fear is one thing, it doesn't need to be attached to a credible threat in the first place, but you can't say they can't coexist due to the potential threat of the witches power to regular people. The human body is fragile. The majority of people have the potential to kill another person suddenly and quickly, even if they aren't armed as some spots in the body are just that vulnerable. We coexist with eachother despite the fact that the existence any other human being is potentially a threat to our lives. Its the willingness to take action to kill that we consider the actual threat, not that one can do harm but whether or not someone seems like they will.

There isn't anything impractical about their desire for the two sides to coexist. In fact, it's the conflict between them that is insensible. Wizard Barristers showed what was probably the most reasonable approach to this kind of situation. There's a new ability in the world, then make new laws and investigative methods to accommodate them. It's just like when new technology shows up, you just need to establish the rules for it's use and enforce them, something they are entirely able to do as the war would not be possible without that being the case. They should not have made out a witch killing someone and a regular person killing someone as being any different than the tools used in a homicide.

@Meridis
I get what you are saying, however I think the situation is slightly different. Human vs human, I still feel like I would have a chance in the 1v1, even if I dont by other reasons. But human vs witch is different. Witches are by default stronger. It would be similar to human vs gorilla. Both could coexist, have similar weaknesses, but one always has natural advantage. In the 1v1 human loses to gorilla almost always. Sleeping next to one would be very hard to get use to, if not impossible to let down your guard for some.

@JavelinJoe

and among humans there are natural differences. There are also differences in arms, as there are plenty of people walking around with what is typically called assault weaponry in my country. I'm not saying it wouldn't come to this, I'm just saying that it wouldn't come logically from their innate differences, as those could be managed and regulated through a legal system. I'm saying that something like this doesn't come from logic, but fear and that fear leads them to disregard the practical approach to deal with witches and go for the impractical, stupid one that leads to many people getting killed regularly in armed conflict.

...come to think of it, wasn't that a major plot point of Chrome Shelled Regios? I think the queen of the mc's home city used the same wording you did to make a point about why he was banished, one he never seemed to get. That him killing a man in a public match would remind the people that the one sleeping next to them at night could crush them the same way the do to monsters. Well, that's another story that seemed to handle it better. Though, because they coexist and one is innately more powerful they do tend to have higher status. Well, that status requires that they fight so the external conflict keeps the relation between the two groups pretty fair.

"Oh, our loyal soldiers got a sudden power-up"
"Let's execute her"
What, did that flame 100 years ago also burns their last brain cell or something?
If you got power, then you should exploit it, you dum-dum.
Fear? Prejudice? Even our own MC said that those above don't have that kind of trivial emotion. They exploit everything for their own interest.

And looking back, what the hell's the imperial doing, spending tons of resource to search for new energy to the bottom of the earth, and then proceed to mocking it rather than integrating it to their lifestyle.
Are they even right in the head?
