Don't mind the quality, the texts are important to me to understand the story. Thanks for this.

Showing us that he was a very capable employee(even though he is only a part-timer) then suddenly firing him!? That ain't cool, bro

@VincentYamato yes it is very legal. There is no work law saying what his boss did was not illegal. It's unfortunate to say this but that's how the real world is.

Even if he was a great employee, he was still just a part-timer, companies/businesses tend to lay off part-timers when they are in dire need of an employee reduction, since they haven't been fully integrated into the business.

Due to how unexpected the sales/income of business can be, actions like that tend to happen.

......Well, it should work out for Muu-kun, since he's a real smart fellow. His father-in-law is a professor at a university, so he should be able to help him out

Depends on local laws. Some places you can just be straight up fired for virtually any reason (usually only exceptions for say, race, sexuality, religion etc) or none at all.

Some places you need a literal paper trail of reasons for a firing.

However, it appears he is being fired for financial reasons (downsizing) which is, As far as I know, perfectly legal anywhere. In order to say, sue them for illegal dismissal he would have to prove they eliminated him for financial reasons (which should be in some sort of paperwork) and was then replaced within a short period of time.

... is Muu-kun that smart? He's certainly *diligent*, and that in itself is praiseworthy in today's society, but I've seen no evidence that he's actually intelligent, like, at all. To be a part-time librarian as an adult implies... very minimal education.

Guys, calm down. They made a point to show us that Muu-kun was the best worker there and that they even thought he was getting a promotion. The firing is just a drama device, because the colleagues will tell the boss how great he was and he'll get hired full-time. Mark my words.
