Wow, this adaptation is still awful. Nothing that happens is explained and the turtle is too fucking little!

Patriarc Reliance is actually an ancient turtle that was sealed thousand of years before the story begins. The State of Zao developed over it. In the meantime Patriarc Reliance created a human body (leveling it in cultivation) and the sect with the only purpose of breaking the seal. In the end it was kinda useless since was the other patriarc (the one that got eated in this chapter) that broke the already weakened by time seal.

Yeah, the turtle is depicted as so tiny, even though the chapter still says the entire country is carried by it. When you look at the actual panels, the turtle would be barely large enough to carry a single small village.
