@Solemmaru idk it feels like he wasted all that time and could not convey all the feelings he had for his wife. Thats why its unfinished.

No, there was no question that he loved Yumi, and no indication that he was ever in love with Yoshizawa. But he was caught up in his imagination. He wanted to create a fantasy of love in the film, and this desire was overturned when he fell in love with Yumi. His entire life thereafter, he was torn between the hallucinatory love in his story, and the real love in his everyday life. He kept working on the film, trying to reconcile these two desires -- for fantasy love and for real love -- but he was never able to do so. It was tragic in a way, but Touma managed to turn that conflict into a dramatic ending, which saved the day.
