ah after reading the end and going back to this scene I now understand why tae acted with such anguish at what she saw. It wasn't a rush to comfort her as much as a desperate attempt to prevent haruka from breaking down which is technically the same thing but also distinct. Haruka gave her virginity to this dude and he, in his own psychological dilemma, rejects the feelings she tried to attach to the act. Tae instantly understood and was horrified.
