I cast my vote for @leoleoleoleo 's entry! I like the sheer cuteness of the cat. There's something about the curved lines that say "soft and adorable!" I wish we could add something that would make it a bit more obvious that we're a manga site, but this is probably my favorite entry that doesn't feature a cute girl.

I couldn't decide between @leoleoleoleo's and @NobunagaOda, so I flipped a coin.
Leo's was heads, and Nobunaga tails.

leoleoleoleo's has a cat for one, and is pretty cute and adorable, and though his banner might be a bit too bright for the dark theme, it's still pretty nice as well.

NobunagaOda's featured one of the least sexualised mascot, and also gives off a bookish feel, especially with the pencil behind the ear, which I have done a few times myself in the past.

The coin's decision, however, was tails.

That said, leoleoleoleo's cat is also super cute.
legatius's #4's banner is also very well done and looks professional.

I'll vote for leoleoleoleo's entry. I feel they have the most professional looking design.

I also like caprisun's #1 mascot and legatius' cat mascot.

Banner:
Legatius' #4 cat lying on book banner. I like most of his stuff I guess. Cohesive designs that look professional and they're easy to read. I'm a fan of stuff that sets us apart from the tone of other manga reading websites.

Mascot:
Caprisun's first entry. Cute and the tie in to MangaDex is obvious to the user. Human mascot is easy to make more art of.

Logo:
Legatius' #4 cat lying on book. Cute and would be easy to recognize at a glance.

Same opinions as Plyk, tho I prefer Caprisun's last entry's mascot, which is the same mascot as the first but with brown hair.


I do also like Aquariumtourmaline's tho.

Voting for Legatius' #4 clean and professional looking design. Would be recognizable. And cats are the epitome of lazing around, perfect mood for reading books or manga.

A personal runner up is Arene's entry. The addition of arms to Bookmark in Book-Dress -chan really helped to make it grow on me.
As Zeph made me realize, really remind of the animated objects from Beauty and the Beast.
Also the banners are looking nice, with and without the mascot.

My vote is going to go to legatius #4, specifically the circular logo ones. I really like the design of banner and logo. They are very professional, easily recognizable, and look very nice.

I did also definitely like both of caprisun's entries. They were very also really good and a close second. I enjoyed NobunagaOda's art as well though its a bit too colorful for me to vote for.

I'm going to stick with @leoleoleoleo 's entry. Perhaps if @caprisun and @legatius had drawn catgirls I'd have a tougher time deciding, but I'm a cat fan through and through. I think it's important to stand out and the art and subject in leo's entries are pretty unique!

All remaining entries are pretty well done, and thought out. However, I am unable to choose between two cat mascots, so I hereby abstain.

Well folks, it looks like we have our winners! In a surprise twist, we had two staff members abstain from voting so there was a tie for runner up.

Our first runner up is @leoleoleoleo! Congratulations. Your professional cat designs are amazing and stupidly cute! I might be stealing some of your work for my personal avatar, depending on how we choose to incorporate your designs into MD.

Our second runner up is @Legatius! Stellar work, as always. Lots of staff members particularly liked your logo designs, which are pretty unique in the manga website community.

And first place goes to @Caprisun! Your mascot captured the hearts of many users both in staff and our discord channel in general! I admit, if you had made your mascot a catgirl, it's possible we wouldn't have a runner up tie.

Thanks to everyone who participated and poured their hearts out into their contest entries. We appreciate you showing our community so much love and creativity! I can't think of a better way to start our contests off than with the success we've seen here.

Winners, please be patient. We are coordinating on getting your prizes ready. Also, depending on how we decide to implement your work, we will most likely be in contact with all of you to ask for tweaks to your designs to get them roll-out ready for MangaDex v3.
