dont you just have to water your hands and onion, and you will get rid of most of the irritating stuff, I don't eat onion often, so I cant recall

There are tricks for onion-cutting involving water, but I always figure, like, doesn't that mean I'll have waterlogged chopped onion?

@Chrisis Yeah, wetting the knife with water every cut or two is usually enough to get rid of the effect.

I know Latina can't do this, but I heard putting an onion in a microwave for 10 seconds will make it to where you can cut it without crying. I haven't tested it myself, but if any cooks out there want to try, let us know if it works.
