Crown prince Cecil was so brilliant that everything in life was easy to the point of boring him, then one day, his fiancée Bertia suddenly said "Prince Cecil, I am a villainess!" Claiming that this world is the same as that of an "otome game" from her past life and that she is playing the role of the "villainess" in it, she aims to play her part well and have their engagement annulled. With that goal in mind, she sets about causing turmoil in Cecil's daily life.

@Harry_Dong You're right, he really does look like Gomez.

I absolutely love this series

EDIT: Anyone know if the series is complete in Japan, or are they still releasing chapters?

I love that this series is an isekai that focuses on a different character other than the one who was transported. I just wish I discovered this manga later when more chapters are out.

An energetic female protag, just like katarina!

Sad thing is that charactonyms are lost in translation. Second name of Bertia is "Ibiru" and matches Engrish pronunciation of "evil".

I am thoroughly enjoying this read. It turns all of the usual shoujo-villainess (and fantasy isekai) tropes on it's head. Instead of the usual first person POV from the protagonist, it's told from the love interest's. Instead of hiding the fact that she was reborn, she blurts it out to everybody without a shred of caution. And instead of trying to change her fated downfall after being reincarnated as the villainess, she actively tries to make it happen. With the top-notch comedy replacing the soap-opera like drama, I can't get enough of all of this series.

And does anyone else think her prime minister dad looks an awful lot like Gomez Addams (Addams Family)?

I officially love this more than half the villainess reincarnation novels

the novel is pure gold and heart fluttering but the manga is too fast paced and it feels stuffy with long lines of explanation. what a let down.

She's way more stupid than Bakarina.

Before the heroine shows up I want to repeat my comment that I posted on the novel since people in comments speak badly of the heroine (for good reason) but she has her good points (it's a spoiler so keep reading at own risk unless you read the novel to current chapter as well)

this is great, the Bertia is a lot of fun to watch, and its fun watching the prince get to work, like watching a puzzle be solved in reverse.
can't wait for the next one.

@TUSF thanks for answering! Seems like a market opportunity! :)

@Zael from what I heard, there aren't many otome games that share features from the various isekai based on otome games. Instead, it seems like they're using some shojou tropes, and imposing them onto otome settings, because otome games actually do let you pick different routes (which lets you add some uncertainty to the story).

@BCS Could be a combination of two things. Firstly the manga is likely skipping a bit of the LN, which isn't weird.

Secondly the point of these early chapters is to set up the relationship between Cecil and Bertia, even if the main part of the story would play around the timeframe of the "game" this is all based on. IE when the maid meets the prince.

I haven't read the LN though, so don't quote me on anything. This is just how I believe things will go.
