A remake of Birdy the Mighty.

Birdy Cephon Altera is a Federation agent chasing interplanetary criminals to the planet Earth. While in pursuit of one such criminal, she accidentally kills a high school boy named Tsutomu Senkawa. Fortunately for Tsutomu, there is a way to keep him alive. He ends up being merged into Birdy's body and must remain so until the repair of his body is complete.

So, Tsutomu is stuck sharing a body with an attractive, strong, and impulsive space police agent while trying to keep his family and friends from finding out about Birdy. In the meantime, Birdy continues her investigation. Together, they take on a secretive group of evil aliens planning to perform experiments on the unsuspecting inhabitants of Earth.

"The original manga ran in what is now Monthly Sunday, but when Masami Yuki began serializing Kyuukyoku Choujin R in the pages of Shonen Sunday it began appearing infrequently, and was eventually abandoned. Only one volume was ever collected. In 2003 Masami Yuki moved from Shonen Sunday to Weekly Young Sunday, a seinen magazine, and began drawing a remake version, starting the story from the beginning." --Wikipedia

@Megel454 Yes (:?
@ShionArita Well look who came out of the wood work.
@Ayazel: Disagree. I loved the two season Decode anime, and that's what got me interested in scanslating the manga series in the first place. The music and animation quality was fantastic, Birdy is sassy AF in person when attached with a voice. Season 2's twist was a great departure from the source material in a way that adds to the universe rather than detract from it. What's there not to like?

But hey, to each their own.

@whoamiagain: There's a lot to keep track of, but the Decode anime does not relate to the manga at all after Seaon 1. They go in completely different directions, beyond the initial premise.

@jterra1: I would say Season 1 of Decode follows up to Vol. 4-ish, Season 2 of Decode is completely original and goes its own way.
Criminally underrated manga, for sure ! Don't watch the anime, it's just plain bad.
I read all of this for some reason and I'm still fucking lost. I skipped around the OVA and bits of decode and it didn't help much.
Manga was first, and after vol. 4, anime got slightly different direction and reasons of what going on.
can anyone tell me how this compares to the Decode anime (it supposedly adapts this)? Does it cover up to a certain point or all of it? (Or is it anime-original?) Thanks.
Man! Was that a ride.
Thanks for translating this great manga!
Now that it is completely translated; it is time for a great reading. Hahahaha.
It has been quite a while since I was caught up with this. Guess this means I need to start over from the beginning. Oh, the horror...No, not really. I'm looking forward to it.
It's a shame this series hasn't been licensed officially. I'd love to grab some copies since it's so unique.
That cover, is Senkawa finally leaving Birdy's body? Can we finally have Birdy as the sole main character?
@ Ironclad yeah ... well as demonstrated his father isn't very bright ... edit : this statement makes no sense

For crying out loud! Is Senkawa's family the only people not in this cult?

@ ME yeah it is weird how much of a scatterbrain she can be sometimes and how on point she can be at others lol i don't mean like with the cultural stuff i mean like for a detective ... she shockingly bad and under resourced
