This is the sequel to the popular Kindaichi Case Files franchise, set 20 years after the original version! Hajime is no longer a student detective, but is a poor office worker who has to deal with the daily pains of adulthood. No longer wanting to solve cases anymore, he keeps his head down and tries to go about his daily work as quietly as possible.
But crime never takes a break, and it isn't long before Kindaichi gets dragged into cases that occur around him. Starting off the new series, we revisit Uta Island, for the fourth edition of the Opera House Murder Case, where the Phantom of the Opera is planning a bloody revenge.
Satoru earned a name as a genius boy detective, and the police rely on his reasoning skills. His secret, though, is that he is able to see the ghosts of the dead, and they provide him with the hints that lead him to solving cases.
Now that he's a teenager, he has attracted a strange 'ghost' named Kako, who claims that she is actually a god. She goads him into taking more mysterious cases, in the search for a vengeful spirit that wants to kill humans.
Now they are a team... where he solves the cases and she purifies the vengeful spirits!
We all know that a lot of the booty of the golden age of explorations made it into museums. The British Museum in the C.M.B. story, which had custody of the recondite scientific curiosities and artifacts collected by explorer/adventurers and stored in a Wunderkammer, decided to study the dusty arcana in the 19th century. Three investigators dubbed the "Magi" were appointed to do the research, each given a ring embossed with the letters C.M.B.
Fast-forward to present-day Japan where Sakaki Shinra is the curator of a museum of oddities. He now has possession of the C.M.B. rings, indicating that he has been granted the status of guardian of knowledge like the Magi that preceded him.
Eiji is a teenager who's rough and rude and loves to fight. However Eiji has a strange power; when he comes in contact of certain objects, he can see memories contained within the objects themselves. When he finds himself involved in a dark murder case, he assists a beautiful young profiler to find the murderer. Afterwards, she continues to ask for his assistance in more complex investigations. A detective manga with intriguing and complicated cases.
NOTE: This manga contains rather a lot of violent imagery, scenes, cases and situations.
Was adapted into a live action TV drama. See Wikipedia a little past halfway down the page.

A jungle and war victims: these fragments constitute Yo Mizunashi's leftover memories. A doctor's son, Yo questions whether these pieces of his "past" aren't just constructs of a delusional mind. One day, while he is being harrassed, a mysterious man—with a gaping wound on his abdomen—appears before Yo and his tormentors. Yo hastens to help the stranger and in return, learns that his unexpected patient goes simply by the name "R" and that R trades in secrets.
