Genetic causes of depression are just risk factors (serotonin cycle related etc), but just being depressed causes epigenetic changes to the brain that increase further your chances of being clinically depressed. This is also how depression can evolve over time, even with good treatment, into anxiety disorders of various kinds, such as GAD and OCD, but also agoraphobia and related disorders. Worse still, there's evidence that these epigenetic changes can begin in utero for children with clinically depressed mothers (who may also be passing on depression risk factor genes). Depression still requires a trigger, that is the environmental cause (whether caused by diet, hormones or significant emotional event), but the duration may be such that depression becomes self-promoting long after the external conditions have disappeared. It can also reappear for seemingly no reason.
Similar happens with stress-related disorders, where increased prolonged stress causes increased stress response and lowered threshold for stressors. See also PTSD, which is an often comorbid disorder with anxiety and clinical depression, which can be caused by just a single life-threatening stressor, and can generalise in sometimes bizarre ways.
It's one of the crueller ways in which we are wired for survival in the short term, because these are parts of processes that get us out of immediate danger, but do significant long term damage.

In the case of the FMC, her trauma was persistent and long term, and her resulting disorders have had plenty of time to generalise. Other than antidepressants and beta blockers, and controlled use of sedatives, she needs a significant amount of time (years) where she doesn't feel hostility to just bring her brain down from high alert.

"what i mean with "cure" here is about how usually MC find out the best course of act to handle her problem,
not about a total cure ..."

There.is.no.cure

Drugs are temporary relief, it helps when shits coming like her panic attack

This woman had been abused, bullied to the point she is broken. Not to mention she probably have Asperger's which doesn't make it even better

This manga may shed how people like her cope and how MC tries to help

Not some shounen shit

The definition of this manga is Comfy Depression.

I want those two to be content together.
Maybe someday, with a whole lot of work and progress...
Happy.

I want to make it clear up front that my response to you isn’t intended to be insulting or admonishing.

There are different causes for depression. Some cases of depression can be tied to environmental issues, like not getting enough sleep, having a very unhealthy diet, or substance abuse. Those kinds of cases can usually be solved by creating healthier habits.

Other cases are psychological, where a situation can lead to the individual feeling overwhelmed by a situation to the point they can no longer cope. Death of a loved one, diagnosis of a severe illness, or loss of a job are good example. These would likely be better treated with therapy and perhaps medication if deemed necessary.

Then there are people who suffer from depression as a result of a genetic or structural issue with the brain. With our main female character here, she is definitely on the autism spectrum. That doesn’t necessarily mean she automatically has depression, but the fact that she seems to have both Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and General Anxiety Disorder points to her also having a legit depression disorder. OCD, GAD, and Depression are all linked disorders that are caused by similar genetic issues. If you have one, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have the others. But it IS very possible.

You can cure mental disorders caused by environmental factors. But you can’t really cure mental disorders caused by genetic issues. It would be like telling a person who was born without their right arm that they can be cured. You can’t really cure something like that.

The best you can do in that situation is use methods to help cope. That likely means medication to force the brain to either limit some activity or increase something (depending on the disorder). Therapy can also be extremely helpful to assist the person create healthy coping mechanisms. But you can’t really “cure” someone of their mental disorder if it is caused by a structural issue in the brain stemming from a genetic issue.

The female MC likely will always require medication in order to function anywhere close to normal. Therapy is also likely necessary due to the abuse and trauma she seems to have suffered in the past that is magnifying her depression , OCD, and anxiety. The therapy can help her create healthier coping mechanisms and work through the psychological trauma. But you can’t cure her.

I like how she ended up doing a favor for him considering how he works his ass off and sacrifices so much for her. Reciprocity is always appreciated in relationships...

I feel that man. Both my birthday and new years day. They both don't really mean all that much to me but I know they are important. I like to be alone on those days and celebrate it my own way, alone. It's a peaceful happiness for me.

I would spend Thanksgiving/Christmas by myself as well but I still have obligations to my family and friends.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, that's a relief - part one really got me worried. That smile and lap pillow combo isn't too bad either.

What a strangely wholesome chapter.

Yeah, honestly that's sometimes for the best to just...let someone do something. I have a similar thing with my birthday; I really don't like celebrating it. So I don't tell people when it is, don't say anything about it and normally spend it alone. It doesn't make me sad, honestly, being by myself is probably way happier than I would be if I tried celebrating it properly. Too much baggage attached to try and pretend so I'll do it in my own way that makes me comfortable and that's good enough.

A small piece of happiness.

Liked the ending, haha!

@Babiapalah This isn't something that can just magically disappear like that, and one wrong move could have her having a negative reaction.

i really want him to do something to cure her as always, but sometimes waiting can be a best cure too?
