Vol. 9 Ch. 43 - Yugami-kun's Time Spent with Relatives
Avatar
On the topic of the moving or not moving thing again: Dad told her before she started school here that this time it shouldn't happen again so soon. It took her almost the entire time she's been there, but she's adapting finally and has friends. She set down roots. Then, he didn't even tell her they would be moving again. She found out because her classmate started reading her dad's blog when he posted that towel, and the classmate had to tell her about it because he and any of her father's random followers knew already, but not the daughter who should be aware of something directly involved in their lives. Not him, not even the mom, a classmate who she isn't even sure she can quite call her friend. If that is not a justifiable reason to finally lose her shit over years of this moving around stuff, I honestly don't know what is. The not telling her first himself thing, that was very bad.

She's also around a year or less away from the age where young people might start moving out of their family homes anyway. She has people besides her family she wants to be around, and she's at the age for seeking more and more independence. Whether it's seeing the dad less often a bit earlier because he's working out of the country, or a bit later because she's at college or whatever, something like this compromise they arrived at was likely around the corner.

@Daigo-kun a pessimistic person is someone who always expect the worst while Chihiro was more like aloof: cold, distant and gave up on social communication.
Avatar
@Azure_1802 Yeah, it was sad :( I agree.
aren't pessimistic people basically people who have given up? I mean they have given up on seeing things on the bright side. So i really can't tell the difference you are pointing out here. Sorry.
Avatar
@Daigo-kun yes, she was kinda like that, but she wasn't really pessimistic, it was more like she had given up. That was so sad.

@Azure_1802 just adding that when Chihiro was 14 she was quite gloomy, pessimistic and anti-social (she didn't care anymore and was glad when she had to switch again). At 16 I guess she didn't care anymore and now with the last switch being able to gain friends has made her nice again.

@jak: Chihiro has had to part with her friends many times (3 years old, 5 yo, 8 yo, 10 yo, 12 yo, 14 yo, 16 yo), only this time she has resisted. Just imagine yourself in her place, always alone in classes, couldn't really make friends and right after having friends, has to move away again. Neither her or her dad is selfish here, but everyone needs social relationships at young ages. It's because this is a manga so the girl is nice and precious, if this really happen in real life, the child in this situation will grow up into a gloomy, pessimistic and anti-social.

It's only the caribbean countries that are fucked up, don't group us with them
@jak dude, he has been doing the same thing for almost 20 years, it's virtually impossible the company forced him to do it every time. Plus the mom herself said that he finally got promoted, meaning that he wasn't even getting a better salary when moving

yugami is all about tough love lol

Based Yugami.

Like Yugami-kun ever gave a shit about family fun. He wouldn't spare even his own grand-ma.

She should know him by now.

Hahaha boy, grandma was so pissed.

It WAS his fault

I'm surprised after so many years Suzune is still expecting something from Yuuji. I guess they only get together during holidays.

i thought it was going to be something like "Yugami-kun doesn't cheat!"
but he just wanted the game console

Love that shoutout to Latin America for being violent. We killin' everyone out here.

I knew it the second I saw the game console on the prize list.
Of course Yugami wouldn't want the hot springs trip.

He's ruthless even to his own family. Poor Grandma, but she really should know better by now.

@evad83

Accepting opportunities to provide a better life for his family, yeah, totally the asshole. /s

@jak

He DECIDED to take the new job to move...NO one forced him to take it .
He said it himself in the previous 2 chapters.

Again, this is not the first time he done this to his family...If you remember early chapters, he has moved his family many times for the sake of his job.
Changes for kids at young age will make it harder for them to get used to environments and friends.
HE IS THE arse here..

At least finally this time, he did the right thing although his childish complaining is very "mature".

@Glimmung

But his job is the reason why he moves. It's selfish of her even if she doesn't have friends.
