Vol. 3 Ch. 16 - Monk 1

I remember the WN's stat boosts being way more broken: the MC's x64 xp boost affects all party members and every kill by a x64 multiplier increased all party members' crystals by 64 implying every kill was worth 384 kills implying one day of hunting was equivalent to about 50,000 nar in other words a totally utterly broken exploit on par with playing as a Swordsman or Teras Kasi Practitioner or pet-cap-unlimited Creature Handler (hundreds upon hundreds of llamas or giant womprat or grub spam kinda-sorta) in Star Wars Galaxies, but on the flip side each party member is locked to only being able to change class and cannot independently change skills like the MC.

I foresee many emacs lisp commands tied to hotkeys or macros were this system to be used in a real MMORPG, toggling your party's skillsets with a quick C-c C-r x y z Hydra command would be bananas, even better if an AI can auto-trigger class changes upon subsets of the party based on environmental conditions... Wahahahahaha I wanna do this now, but scheme would be more desirable, let's see, guilelib exists but it lacks rust bindings....

@Exebba The exp dividing part was theoretical, I think. He's curious about which way experience works, then experiments and checks the results a couple pages later.

Can someone explain the exp dividing part? the graphs don't make sense, it literally says that the exp divided by classes makes Roxanne level up faster and then said that it's likely that exp doesn't get divided by set classes. Unless he means it doesn't get divided when only he uses exp boost.

@mommunism Be done here, but I will still have the last word. If you don't want any discussion, then don't post here and especially don't reply, even if your post is replied to. You will subject yourself to a discussion that way. Ooh, guess what? You will consent to a discussion by replying. Anyway, I said it was "slave's consensual", which is little more than a formality. And you are indeed the holier than thou Jesus here, though you might not see it yourself. You are that because you are sticking to your single simplistic argument and categorically keep refusing anything I say with the exact same argument you had from the beginning, which basically doesn't really look into what's going on in the series at all. My mistake was that I assumed you actually wanted to discuss the series, but in fact you weren't interested in the series in the first place, you only wanted to say that a slave owner wanting to have sex with a slave is irrevocably evil. It's like you came here randomly to state your political stance, or something. We actually agree on the dude's actions being nasty, but whereas I'm looking at what happened as a part of the story of this series, you don't see the story around it at all. You must be one of the people who keep reading manga they hate? And no, you don't need to answer that question since you are done here.

And my example was perfect, not bad. 150 years ago your opinion would have been the weird one. That's how it goes.

@Kaarme We're having the conversation because you replied to my comment with some things that were explicitly false and some things that were awful arguments. You're not talking about "raw reality" and nobody ever views reality in a void. An arranged marriage could obviously still be non-consensual, which is why they're generally looked down upon in developed countries, so that's a bad example too. "Welcome to reality 150 years ago or in other countries" is a stupid thing to say. Just because it's happened doesn't mean it's justifiable. Do you forcefully rape a girl and burn her house down and say "welcome to reality in the middle ages"? "I know what consent mean but people do things they don't want" is again, not an argument relevant to the conversation. You told me this was consensual, which is bullshit, period. I didn't say she would be happier if someone told her to be miserable. Again, an imbecilic argument that I can't even imagine could be derived from any part of this thread. I was obviously implying the guy was being a piece of shit, not that she doesn't have "the right attitude." Nothing you're saying is remotely intelligent and most of it isn't even relevant at all to what's been said so far. I'm done here.

@mommunism Why are we having this conversation in the first place? You are talking about philosophical and ethical things, I'm talking about the raw reality. What exactly makes the sex affair, if we concentrate on that, different from a purely arranged marriage consummated the first night after the ceremony (the ceremony day might have been the first bloody day the man and woman ever met)? In many cases neither the new wife nor the husband would have wanted the marriage, but the parents dictated it, might have even exchanged money or valuables to make it happen. The first night they would have sex because that's how it goes. They would have sex many times afterwards to make childen because that's how it goes. Welcome to the reality mere 150 years ago (in fact it still happens in some third world countries)!

I know perfectly well what consent means. But I also know people need to do a whole lot of things in life they wouldn't want to do. That's life. A slave's consent might be irrelevant, but if she can tell herself the act did have her consent, she can make the best of her slave's life and live a little bit happier. You think she would be happier if some holier than thou Jesus came and told her she was raped and she needs to be enraged and miserable - yet she would still remain the slave all the same.

@Kaarme How could you possibly have gotten "she's better off dead" from what I said? And the rest of your comment is just repeating your previous arguments, demonstrating that you don't even know what consent means and solely taking her perspective because you know that regardless of her expectations the guy is being shitty. I can't argue with someone that can't comprehend simple points and is obviously lying to themselves.

tfw the author put more effort in the bath scene than the battle scene (except the first few shots)
he got his priority right :3

@Mogima You gotta gather your friends and join the Arab Spring. Down with manga censorship!

@kaarme all foreign media would be filtered by the censoring department of each country. and seeing as my country is a moslem country, all the 'archbishop' equivalent would protest with all their might.

"She could've had it worse" also obviously isn't an argument

What a first world argument. I take it you mean she'd be better off dead? That's where we disagree 100%.

She's a slave, that's it. She has accepted that fact (though, like I said, I do wish she at least dreams of freedom), so that's the baseline she needs to deal with. Her "consent" is to bet on being Michio's slave is better than being someone else's slave. So far that has been quite a good bet and she really went for it, from the beginning. Michio treats her extremely well, aside from wanting to have sex with her immediately. She simply had to accept that to make sure Michio won't sell her to some random scumbag. A slave's consent will always be different from a free person's consent.

I wonder if he tried to become One Punch Man and goes bald latter ... ๐Ÿ˜…

@Kaarme It absolutely isn't. The primary reason that the main character is recommended her is (as stated explicitly by the owner) because she, unlike the other slaves, isn't allowed to refuse, and this dynamic is very clear in their early relationship, and even before it when he thinks of nothing but the inevitable sex (i.e. regardless of her opinion) when looking forward to her purchase. Furthermore, whether she's a slave has no bearing on the concept of consent. "She could've had it worse" also obviously isn't an argument. It's like saying "at least you got raped by a hot guy" or using the argument that neo-nazis are fond of where they say slavery wasn't all that bad in the US because the blacks were given food and shelter.

this is getting boring, I mean the art is fantastic and thanks for meal but story wise, are they just gonna fuck - battle - fuck - battle- fuck?

@Kaarme But politicians do sometimes vote dumb censorship laws, that's probably what he was talking about. And on the same note it's also for the same reason that scanlation/fansub will ALWAYS be better.
