NO LEGOSI WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING STUFF LIKE THIS

Yeah sorry, it's just that this was so freaking pointless, i already had issues with the manga and should have dropped it sooner but i was being stubborn about it.

>Beastars discussion turns into Latin American Magical Realism discussion

Man, you ever needed proof that Beastars comment section is the best, look no further. Cept for all this overreacting going on.

Hopscotch/Rayuela by Cortázar is a jewel of Latinoamerican writing, you have the main story and the "accesorial" chapters for a more expanded reading, and in the main story there's a chapter that doesn't make any sense untill you read the even an then the odd lines lines (I mean line 1-3-5...) it's one of those books that i don't know if the translator can make justice.
Avatar
@beperov Thanks dude! Will check them out if they're available at the nearest bookstore

@beperov Roberto Bolaño is great
@kaiaiji Believe me, there is much worse around
@lililily Your fire power objections makes sense but he could easily solve it wearing an external denture
with metal canines which could be even be more lethal than true teeth during fights

@Ixtab I'm not into reading too much but if you want to keep checking latinoamerican books you should check out Roberto Bolaños, Julio Cortazar, Jorge Luis Borges, etc. Last book I finished was Slaughterhouse V and it was really good. Dostoyevsky is also an author I really like, Crime and Punishment is my favorite by him, and I'm currently reading Brothers Karamazov

@beperov Thanks for the insight! it really is an interesting read. Seeing the town age, along the people in it throughout the story gives you a certain feeling. Any books you can recommend? I just started getting into reading so any genre is fine.
Avatar
@Ixtab Spanish is my first language so it's easier for me to read it, keeping track of the whole town can be a bit of a bitch though. Anyway it's a pretty interesting read that I think encapsulates latinoamerican magical realism pretty damn fine.

I've never seen a manga turn for the worse in only one chapter. Until now.
