Ohhhhh is that his father? Is that his father?
Wait, now that the father showed up, he also had a sick mother and was working to pay her medical bills right? What happened to her? Could he maybe use a healing potion to cure whatever is wrong with her?

looks like the consensus is to read the novel now. Looks like the manhua has to skip too much. However, I read it for the waifus but it looks like this novel is about solo leveling or something... weird.

What chapter is this in the novel?
Avatar
The fight was epic in the novel and they skipped a lot of moments

The fight made more sense in the light novel lol

Indeed. I’ve already read the tl’d version up to the current chapter. I was just pointing out that it’s already a completed novel.

@Serapheid

Looks like the novel is translated up to c128 so far with good progress being made every week.

I read the novel, the next arc is epic as hell. Can’t say much about the story behind the dungeons since the novel hasn’t been tl’d that far

@optiso

You can’t really compare the two since ToG is originally a webtoon. Solo Leveling is a webtoon based on a novel, and that untranslated novel is already finished at Ch 268. The current webtoon is around Ch 50 to 70-ish as a rough estimate

This story can be massively expanded but I'm skeptical. I never expected Tower of God to go as far as it had, but it just got too damn confusing and boring for me. I hope this doesn't happen for this comic.

The issue with the guy coming out after ten years in the dungeon world gives me hope this story will continue to go to interesting places. To stay interesting, the story is eventually going to have to show us more of what lies behind the gates, how they connect and for what purpose.

I look forward to reading a new chapter of Solo Leveling every week, and I have to say I haven't been disappointed yet. This is drawn and then translated so well. Much appreciation ?

The difference with Sung dad is that he entered a dungeon in South Korea, but failed to exit the dungeon before it closed.
10 years later, he came out of another dungeon in America.
However, it is common knowledge to humans at that point that dungeon is not linked, meaning if you got locked in a dungeon, you are as good as dead, since it's just an empty hallway with no food supplies - after you defeated the boss.
His story was so unbelieveable that the humans thought that Sung dad had died, but a monster somehow gained his memory and appear in the American dungeon - that's their theory on how Sung dad has no memory of how he appeared in the dungeon in America, when his last memory was the dungeon in SK.

@Zeezle
The power meter used to measure Dungeon is the same power meter used to measure Hunters - they measure magic power specifically, which is something that both Hunters and monsters possessed.
However, an A-rank dungeon is usually comprised of many monsters and the accumulated power of all these monsters result in an A-rank dungeon.
Having a single creature gives off that reading is the same as saying that this being is capable of solo-clear an A-rank dungeon - a rare feat even among S-rank Hunters. S-rank Hunters usually pair up with a couple A-rank Hunters to clear an A-rank dungeon.
So no, Sung dad did not make the dungeon.

absolutely agree.

@Ptakers
I think this story pacing is phenomenal . The character power is constantly growing with just the right amount of obstacle for him to overcome. Look at the art man how can you complain and don't forget this isn't like a manga , there are also colors.

@Ptakers
It is just you.

How fast do you think you could crank out art that level? Between figuring out how the scene should be drawn, trying things, changing your mind til something really works well, then drawing it that good. Do you really think you could do it faster? Are you sure you could even keep up to the degree they have going? I know I couldn't.

Everything is easier when someone else is doing it. It likely wouldn't come out this fast if someone else hadn't written the story in advance.

is it only me or the story is really slow for the ammount of time the have to make a new chapter which should be 50 pages long?
