well there it is important characters can't stay dead in anime and manga series and somehow always return. kyouka and kukuri aint dead either they will return as well. in case of kyouka they can use that storehouse tsukumogami to repair kyouko after that old geezer is dead im pretty sure he will die by the end of this arc. |

@bastek66 This is going to be a fairly long and off-topic one, so this will be my last comment. We are supposed to be commenting on this specific chapter of Tsugumomo. Why would you care about aiming your manga to particular group? Wouldn't be better draw what you like? Popularity rankings, which determines if your work could potentially get axed or not. Let's say for example, in a certain magazine, ten authors are getting their works published. Then within ten readers of that magazine, six are of a certain demographic. It would make sense to tailor your work to suit the tastes of those six to maximize the potential fans that you would gain, right? But that's not factoring in the rival authors who are also aiming their works towards the same majority demographic. But if for some reason you're the only one who tailored their work to suit the other four, you essentially have a monopoly of 40% of that magazine's readers while the rest are fighting against each other to get the biggest piece of the remaining 60%. Just because the magazine is aimed towards a certain demographic, it does not necessarily mean every single reader of that magazine is of that demographic. If mangakas could get away with just drawing whatever they want all the time, they'd be better off staying as an amateur and make doujins, or self-publish. Both of which aren't exactly as profitable as a professional in a big publishing company. Last edited 2 years ago by MangaDex. |

@bastek66 Okay, so apparently I can theoretically write a manga aimed at older shounen, somehow get it published in a seinen magazine, and it will be regarded as a seinen. Ri~ght, quite the stickler aren't ya? What kind of next level elitist urod would be unsecure about liking oppai dragon? |

@shinya78 There is exactly nothing to discuss, manga demographic is same as it's magazine. That's all nothing to do with content. Unfortunately there are retards who think shounen=bad and seinen=good because they think Berserk is seinen defining manga or they are unsecure about liking series like HxH. |

@bastek66 You just proved my point, thank you very much. Just because a title is published in a certain magazine, does not necessarily mean the content of said title exclusively caters to the magazine's targeted demographic. Deadtube is from shounen magazine and is gorier and pornier than any of these. If we're going by content alone, Dead Tube wouldn't look out of place in a seinen magazine. Tsugumomo's fight scenes would cater to the older shounen and younger seinen because of how it generally looks and feels like it's something you would find in a shounen manga. That, or I can't help but see it in that light because of all the Giga Cloth-drill Breaker that Kazuya uses from early on. Meanwhile, Tenjou's range from flashy cool moves, to gory, to erotic, and even up to guro. Not to mention, the artwork really sells it as a seinen. ---- But we're going off tangent now, it's best we leave this as it is before we take up pages upon pages just debating on the matter. @shinya78 It's simply battle manga. You know there is a lot of battle manga published in seinen magazines? Terraformars, Tenjou Tenge, Tokyo ghoul. Shounen doesn't mean anything. Deadtube is from shounen magazine and is gorier and pornier than any of these. |

@bastek66 It is essentially a shounen battle manga that threads the needle between ero and ecchi way too far to be published in a shounen magazine. Content equals demographic. Deal with it. @arimareiji Just for the record, the joke was that it's useful to look at it like a seinen romance. Well if you put it that way, sure. But if Kyouka does comes back, it just means Kazuya will have more tools (no pun intended) in his arsenal for his inevitable battle with his mom. Last edited 2 years ago by MangaDex. |

@shinya78 Then again, this is technically a shounen. NO, it's seinen because it's published in seinen magazine. Shounen doesn't equal battle manga. Deal with it. |

Wonderful news, everyone! Looks like the publisher has changed their release schedule, so the new chapter is out. Watch the skies. And it seems like every chapter we have to remind someone that Gekkan Action is marketed as a seinen title, not shounen. Also ongoing: It ain't over 'til it's over. Just for the record, the joke was that it's useful to look at it like a seinen romance. *shrug* It would be nice if Kyouka comes back, but I have the nasty suspicion that a mangaka who sets up MC to re-kill his own mom before she kills him (and even more of the people he cares about)... isn't actually all that nice. I'll be pleasantly surprised if the first person mom kills upon escaping isn't his sister. |

Otherwise you end up in Seo-world, where you end up hating MC and author (Kimi no Iru Machi). Somebody called for the Seo-verse ranter? Then again, this is technically a shounen. And with Kirika coming back from her obi form's literal tattered condition, means Kyouka can come back later as well. Last edited 2 years ago by MangaDex. |

This is a manga where Kami & magic are everywhere, so this kind of development doesn't feel gamey to me in light of that. Losing Kiriha (& Kukuri) was devestating & I'm just happy at least one of them is back. ... But now I'm devestated that Kyouka is gone. She's gonna come back too, right? ;_; |
